Hot to use remote control with Roku
There are two main types of remotes available, depending on the streaming TV you are using:
Simple Remote
It features built-in buttons and shortcut buttons for popular streaming channels, allowing you to easily launch them with just one touch. Additionally, it includes buttons for power and volume adjustment, as shown in the image below.
Voice Remote
This voice-command remote includes all the features of the simple remote but with the added advantage of a voice search function. By pressing the dedicated voice button and speaking into the remote, you can search for your favorite shows, movies, actors, and more using voice commands.
Pairing or Resetting a Simple Remote
When you purchase a new Roku remote, you may wonder how to pair it with your Roku device. Here’s a simple guide to pairing a Roku Simple Remote. Whether you have a new remote or need to reset it due to potential issues, follow these steps to complete the process:
Start by removing the batteries from the Roku remote.
Unplug the power cable from your Roku player, wait about 5–10 seconds, and then plug it back in.
Once the Roku home screen appears on your TV, reinsert the batteries into the remote.
Find the reset button on the bottom of the remote and press and hold it for about 5–10 seconds.
The pairing light on the remote will begin flashing.
Once the pairing and reset process is complete, a notification will appear on the screen confirming that the remote has been successfully paired.
